Glasgow Bowling Clubs Ex-Presidents Association
History
Unfortunately all our early records were lost in a flood
In 1923 Past Presidents of Glasgow clubs came together and formed the Glasgow Bowling Club Ex-President Association making it one of the biggest active association of its kind in the country and we are fortunate that we still have a record of all Past Presidents
The Ex-Presidents can be identified by the Gold Blazer Badge and the Scarlet, Royal and light Blue striped tie.
Like any Association we have moved on with the times and are now sporting a Polo Shirt with the Gold Badge embroidered
To become a member of the Association you first have to be a Past President of a Glasgow outdoor club and play two games for the Glasgow Ex-Presidents, they can be played during their year as President of his own club and that qualifies for membership.
The Association play's approx. 27 outdoor games and 8 indoor games with a Presidents Touring Weekend
As we are an Association we do not have our own green, so we borrow greens throughout Glasgow in the way of playing against the Glasgow Clubs
We also play the Ex-Presidents of Edinburgh, Kilmarnock, Largs & Dist, Garnock Valley, Falkirk, Edinburgh Secretaries Association, Glasgow Bowling Club Secretaries Association and the Glasgow Bowling Association.
